Rita Rose
December 16, 1935 -
July 17, 2012
Rita Marie Rose passed away on July 17, 2012 in Modesto, California at the age of 76.  Rita was born to William Barnette and Lillian Brann on December 16, 1935 in Missouri.  She has been a resident of Modesto for the last thirty years.
Rita was a licensed vocational nurse and an ombudsman. She also volunteered for the Center for Human Services, and the Memorial Hospital Association.  She also spent time being a Docent for the McHenry Mansion and Museum.  On her time off, Rita enjoyed traveling; she was a part of the Modesto Travelers Club, and she enjoyed shopping; particularly for jewelry.  She had a real passion for her friends and family and especially loved children and her Yorkie, Tiffany.  Rita will be deeply missed by everyone she surrounded.
Rita is survived by her husband, William Rose, her honorary children: Gail Hakanson (Larry), Pam Thorkelson (Clay), Dave Rose (Kim), Mark Rose, and Patti Rose, her grandchildren: Chelsea Rose, Spencer Rose, Amanda Davis, Brandon Hakanson, Katie Hakanson, Jeff Thorkelson and Melissa Thorkelson, and her step-sister, Kay Cooper.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Franklin & Downs Funeral Homes.  A service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24, at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, family has requested that donations in Rita's name be sent to Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund: P.O Box 578997 Modesto, CA 95357 or the Alexander Cohen Hospice House: 2201 Euclid Ave, Hughson, CA.
