August 25, 1953 - April 8, 2013
Robert "Bob" Allen of Modesto passed away April 8, 2013 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House. He lost his battle with colon cancer.
Born in Whittier, CA. to Lynn and Frances Allen, the youngest of 3 sons. Bob went to schools in Whittier and then on to Cal Poly, Pomona, where he graduated in 1975. It was there he met his wife, Mel. Bob was a member of the Pi Sigma Chi Fraternity. From college he worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance and Swet & Crawford. He was involved in the family business for many years. He moved to Modesto 14 years ago and worked for Gallo and G3 until he retired.
Bob was a devoted husband and Father to Christopher 32 and Melissa 30. He was very active in their activities like scouts, soccer, & hockey. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved going on rides with his friends. His favorite spots to ride to were Yosemite and Lake Tahoe.
Bob is survived by his wife Mel of 37 years, son, Chris and daughter Melissa, his Father, Lynn, brothers Donald (Patty) and Richard, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Frances.
Funeral Services will be held 1 pm Saturday, April 13, at Salas Brothers, 419 Scenic Dr., Modesto. with a reception immediately following at Appetez Restaurant, 825 W. Roseburg Ave., Modesto. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be in the summer.

On behalf of the whole team at G3 Enterprises, I send my deepest sympathies to Mel and rest of Bob's family at the passing of this wonderful man. Bob was a dear friend to so many of the G3 team, and he could be counted on to be a calm, generous, positive influence to everyone. Thank you, Mel, for sharing Bob with us for more than 12 years. He will be sorely missed.
