Robert Wolfley Obituary

Robert James Wolfley
January 13, 1948 - March 3, 2021
Modesto, California - On Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 , Robert James Wolfley, loving husband and devoted father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 73.
Robert was born on January 13th, 1948, in Modesto, CA, to Harold James Wolfley and Emma Elizabeth Wolfley. He was raised in the Central Valley, and graduated from Downey High School in 1966, and Modesto Junior College in 1975.
At just eighteen years old, he voluntarily joined the draft, and served our country in the Vietnam war, earning both a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
After returning home, he worked for fifty years in the Wolfley family business; Processor's Hardware and Equipment. In 1970 Robert married, and had two children, Christopher and Marissa.
Robert was known by all for his great acts of charity and his kind heart. It was not unusual to find him buying clothing and goods for those who were less fortunate -- delivering them himself. He spent his entire life giving to others and asking nothing for himself.
His experience in Vietnam was something that remained with him, and he spent a great deal of his time interacting with other Veterans at the VA. He never shied away from others' pain, but lent his ear to listen. Robert had a way of understanding and of loving the broken.
He also had a passion for classic cars, and had acquired a beautiful Shelby collection. He was a member of the NorCal Shelby American Club, and was featured in their magazine, Driven. He spent his last years working on his cars with his best friends and son, Christopher.
He is survived by his wife, Kristine Wolfley, his two children, Christopher Wolfley and Marissa Massey, as well as five grandchildren, Zachary, Dylan, Alexa, Cadence, and Ethan, and two step-children, Melissa Baxter and Gregory Boteler Jr.
There will be a viewing held on Tuesday March 16th, 2021, at the Riverside Chapel at Lakewood from 1-4pm.
A funeral service will be held at Lakewood Memorial located at 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, CA 95326, on Wednesday March 17th, 2021 at 12pm outside in the amphitheater.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the VFW - Veterans of Foreign Wars, or the Gary Sinise Foundation.

We met Bob & Chris at my husband's birthday party and became instant friends. We enjoyed the rides, enjoyed the laughs, and mostly, we enjoyed the friendship itself. God bless you, Bob.
