Steven Hill Obituary

Steven Craig Hill
April 11, 1953 - May 2, 2014
Steven Craig Hill, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, returned to his Father in Heaven on May 2, 2014 following a tragic automobile accident in Atwater, California.  Steve was born April 11, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lloyd Hill and Beverly Wallberg. He had a passion for learning and recently earned his doctorate in Environmental Systems from UC Merced. Steve was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully throughout his life.  Steve loved teaching whether in the classroom with his students, in the outdoors with his scouts, or in the backyard with his grandkids.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother Beverley, and is survived by his father Lloyd, his loving wife of 37 years, Lynn Baker, his children Andrew (Cami) of Atwater, CA, Jennifer Peterson (Mark) of Sacramento, CA, Robert (Amanda) of Merced, CA, Craig (Leanne) of Idaho Falls, ID, Michael of Atwater, CA, and his 14 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 10 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1108 E Yosemite Ave Merced, CA 95340.

I was so surprised and saddened to hear this unexpected news. Lynn and family, my heart goes out to you with this sudden loss. Steve was a consistently kind, patient, Christ-like individual who was a light in this darkening world. Please know that you will be in my prayers and thoughts at this time. Because of the Atonement of Christ, and the binding ties of the Priesthood, I know that Steve will be supporting all of you from the other side. I know this because my parents have done this and are doing this now for me. Great men live on and are not forgotten by those they have served and loved. May angels attend you. Astrid

sorry that I can't be there to offer support. Steve stayed a friend thru difficult times. Craig and Micheal---It is normal to be sad and sorry that your Dad will not be there for you and your future families, but remember the Atonement and your Priesthood training and that your Dad will still be supporting you with his prayers. I lost. My father before I can remember, age 2, but I have known his approval and support.
With our love. Dave Olsen and Joan
