William Goddard Obituary

WILLIAM ANDREW GODDARD MAY 23, 1924 - OCT 8, 2009 William Andrew Goddard lived his eighty-five years well. He was a kind and generous person and he tried with everything he had to help better mankind. He was one of the last surviving veterans of WWII. Born and raised in the Philippine Islands, William always expressed great memories of his parents and the way he was raised on the Islands. William and his first wife, Naomi, raised six children. Sadly, two sisters have passed away, the oldest, Norine, and the third child, Betty. Today his remaining four children, the oldest, Mae Dean; his two adopted children, Wayne Eldon and Donna, along with William and Naomi's child, Leonard Andrew, and William's fourteen grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, are all very sad at having lost their patriarch. We are grateful to Lessie, William's devoted wife of thirteen years, for her loving care which allowed William to remain at home during his long illness. We shall cherish the memory of our father, our grandfather, our great and great-great grandfather, whose memory shall continue to live in our hearts. We embrace you, dear one, with love in our hearts. A Memorial will be held at Salas Bros., 419 Scenic Dr., Modesto, on Sat., Oct. 24th at 3:00 p.m. Remembrances may be sent to Bristol Hospice, 1170 West Olive Ave., Merced, CA 95348. www.modbee.com/obituaries
