ALBERTO G. PROA
Alberto G. Proa,, age 86, a resident of Needles, California, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. He was born on August 28, 1937 in Kingman, Arizona.
Alberto graduated from Needles High School in 1957 and was employed for a short time as baker with Claypools & Company. He then finished his career with BNSF as a Brakeman/Conductor, where he developed a deep love for trains. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his devotion to St. Ann's Catholic Church in Needles, where he was often singing in the choir as he was a regular attendee.
In his leisure time, Alberto traveled, enjoyed his family, golfing and doing woodwork, pursuits that brought him much joy and relaxation. He was known for his jokes and friendly games on the golf course.
Alberto was proceeded in death by his parents, Alberto Proa, Sr. and Ambrosia Guerrero Proa; brother, Frank Proa; and sister, Anna Proa Sanchez.
Alberto leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Esther L. Proa; he was a cherished father to his children: Albert, Rudy (Kathleen), Rory (Marylee), and daughter, Diane; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 9:30am on Friday, August 2, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 218 D Street, Needles, California.
Dimond and Sons of Needles are assisting the family with arrangements.
Alberto's life will be remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him in the community.
