David Preston Young, age 32, beloved son of Pat and Diane Young of Bullhead City Arizona, and husband to Vicki M. Young, passed away in his sleep, July 29, 2010, in Savannah, Ga.

David was born January 29, 1978, in Provo Utah. David attended public schools in Bullhead City and was a graduate of Mohave High School, Class of 1997. David was called to serve an LDS Mission for two years in Brazil. After completing his mission in Brazil, David returned to college to complete his undergraduate studies in Business Management at BYU-Idaho.

During that time, David married his beautiful wife, Vicki Finley, in the Mesa Arizona Temple, Dec. 30, 2006. David and Vicky resided in Idaho at the time of his passing.

David Preston Young was a sweet and beautiful son, and his life was full of laughter and happiness. He loved to make people laugh and compassion and love was his gift to all who knew him. Families are forever, and David has returned to his Heavenly Father in honor and love. We will miss him but we will treasure the reunion.

David was a blessed brother to eight siblings, Curtis of Salt Lake City, Utah, Darren of Bullhead City, Ariz., Tiffany of Orem, Utah, Robert of Springville Utah, Ryan of Eagle Mt., Utah, Heather of Las Vegas Nev., Greg of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mathew of Flagstaff, Ariz. Also, David was a wonderful, loving Uncle to his 23 nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at the Latter Day Saints Chapel, 1690 River Gardens Drive, Bullhead City, Arizona.

A public viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 12:00 noon.

A graveside service will be held at Desert Lawn Cemetery, 9250 S. Rancho Lane, Mohave Valley.

Vicki, you brought the Gospel into my home when you were a missionary. Thinking of your bright smile and warm hugs still brighten my day. I know you love Dave so much and he has made you know what it feels like to be loved and cherished. It makes me sad to know that a cousin that I haven't seen since I was a little girl went back to Jesus before I could see him again. I know that he is in a better place but he will be missed by everyone! My 4 year old is learning a lot about the gospel and he cried for an hour wanting his cousin David back, he asked why Jesus took him back and that it wasn't fair. It made me sad to watch him go through this and then I thought of Uncle Pat, and felt very sad that he had to burry a child. I love you David, may God Be With You Till We Meet Again!

David had such a wonderful spirit. Vicki and I have been good friends for quite sometime, I remember thinking shortly after they got married what a good guy vicki had found. He was so friendly and you could just tell that they had a good life together full of friendship and love. God most have something very special planed for David to do and what a wonderful blessing that is. It is so wonderful that family are forever. although David will be missed here, i know he is with our father in heaven doing something wonderful. It brought me great comfort to feel the calmness and peace at the services, the spirit was very strong and I know vicki and everyone who attending could feel that peace and love. I am a friend of Vicki's and met Dave at BYU-Idaho. They are (because they still are, just wating to be reunited) such a sweet couple. I know that they did great things wherever they were nad will continue to do great things in the eternities. My heart goes out to you and I have been praying and fasting that the Spirit will be strong in your lives to give you everything you need. Pat, I'm so sorry. I had David my first year of teaching at Mohave. It was a sort of hard year for him. But, he always said he loved Free Enterprise and I appreciated that he always told me.
