MARY RIDDLE Obituary

Mary Louise Riddle, age 66, an 11-year resident of Fort Mohave, died Thursday, August 12, 2010.

Mary was born June 6, 1944 in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Mary grew up and spent most of her early life in a small Pennsylvania suburb known as Conshocken. From an early age, Mary faced adversity as a young mother, but in 1974, she brought her daughters, Debbie and Margie, to California in search of a new life.

In 1975, in a small Southern California town named Moorpark, she found that new life. Mary met her husband, Robert Thomas Riddle, and in a little more than a year, their storybook romance had begun. Robert moved Mary and her two daughters quickly into his home, which immediately became their home. In 1977, Mary gave birth to their son, John, and from then on their family was complete in love, safety and a beautiful sense of togetherness.

In 1999, with the children grown and on their own, Mary and her husband Robert moved to Fort Mohave in search of a place to settle down. Mary 's love of family was always evident, though she lived in Arizona for 12 years, she always called Moorpark home for it was the place where all the kids came together as the family she cherished so much.

Those who were close to Mary would describe her with words like "angel," "fighter," a "saint" and a "special woman." She was admired by many for enduring much through her life. She faced cancer twice, and a trouble filled pregnancy with her son, John, as a premature baby. Mary survived multiple heart surgeries and heart attacks. She was a fighter through the years withstanding ordeals that the rest of us can't even imagine. She fought not for her life but for those that she loved.

Throughout the years, Mary's children would often give her various angels as gifts. Her collection was quite beautiful, and in some ways a testament to her. Although Mary's collection of angels ends, we all like to believe that God's collection gained one more. The suffering is over and she rests' peacefully in God's arms. There is no way for us to know exactly how our loved one's reside in heaven, but our family is pretty certain that she holds a special position. With all her love and sacrifice for family and friends, she must be an angel or a saint.

Mary is survived by her husband Robert; daughter, Debbie and her daughter, Danielle; daughter, Margie and husband, Mark, and their children, Jeffery, Kayla and Thomas; and son, John, his wife, Liz, and their children, Anaya and Sadie.

Mary was the best mother in the world! Mary was the best friend in the world! Mary was the best wife in the world, and she will be missed immensely! God bless you. Rest in peace and serenity. We all love you Mom, more that yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow.

Sweet, Sweet Mary my Wonderful Friend. We have shared our entire lives together. Starting as toddlers, as next door neighbors. What great years we had as teens & those Ohhh, so wonderful dating years in High School & all those Rock & Roll Dances we attended. I can still see you dancing to Proud Mary. We shared so many Double Dates at the Drive In Movies & all those nights we spent doing our hair and trying to put on make up & learning how to smoke ciggs. We went on to marriage and starting our family’s. I can’t remember one important event in our lives that we were not there for each other. I was with you on the night you met your beloved Tommy, the love of your life. We have shared every secret & problem now for 66 years & I don’t know what I’ll do without you being there to talk to. My heart is soooo broken. I lost my sweet daughter Dodi just 63 day ago and now I have lost you, my Dearest Friend. I know how much you loved the prayer. HAIL MARY. I will say it every day. Rest in peace My Love.

I feel so blessed to have had you be one of the biggest influences in my life. I feel even more blessed that i know i carry a part of you in my heart, soul, and genes and mostly in my memory. I love you so much. I miss you more and more everyday. I have so much comfort knowing that you have been a part of my life for 21 years and even though i can't touch you and hear your words i know you are still with me. You will not be here to hold my hand and help walk me down the isle but you will be there in spirit. I love you so much Nana. Please continue to watch over all of us. We will never stop needing you! I can not wait to see you again... Jesus will love the day we can bake all the cookies we want.. and this time.. i'll eat them after they are baked! XOXO
