Andres Apostol

Dr. Andres Apostol Dr. Andres Apostol passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on December 21, 2022. Andres wanted to become a doctor at the age of two and fulfilled his dream graduating from the University of St. Thomas in the Philippines and moving to the United States. Dr. Apostol was a lifetime resident of Monett and served as one of the local physicians at Cox-Monett Hospital (formerly St. Vincent's Hospital). He took great care of many patients and families for 39 years before retiring from the Cox Health Systems in 2010. Dr. Apostol was a parishioner at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. Andres loved to watch his children and grandchildren compete in athletic events and perform at concerts. Dr. Apostol wanted family to always come first and gave everything he had to ensure that his children were successful. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Dolores Apostol; and his brothers, Benito Apostol, Quirico Apostol, Melchor Apostol, and Gregorio Apostol. Andres is survived by his wife of 56 years, Natividad C. Apostol; his sons Joseph Apostol, MD (Christina, Bennett, and Daniel), John Apostol (Jami, Brendan, and Mason), Jonathan Apostol, EdD (Laura, Abby, Jayden, Gabriella, and Alex), James Apostol (Taylor, Ava, Dominic, and Anthony), and his daughter Jenni Apostol Denea (Jason, Jason II, and Juliana). Dr. Apostol is also survived by his brother, Romulo Apostol, Pelagio Apostol, and Ananias Apostol and sisters, Presciosa Apostol Tarlengco and family, Terencia Apostol Montellano and family, Ruffina Apostol Mascarinas and family, and Isabel Apostol Venezuela and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic School or the CoxHealth Foundation. At this time funeral arrangements are pending.
