Barbara Polek Obituary

Barbara Ann Polek, 76, of Lambertville, MI, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 8, 1941, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Joseph S. and Mary H. (Gnacinski) Szelagowski. Barbara was a 1959 graduate of Woodward High School and then received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo in 1964. She married Ronald Polek on May 2, 1964.
Barbara was a teacher for Washington Local Schools and Regina Coeli Catholic School, where she was a parishioner for 40 years. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, L.C.R.T.A. and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance.
Barbara loved life, living it to the fullest. She had a constant smile and enjoyed being with people. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe with their close friends, golfing, and shopping. Barbara was also an avid Notre Dame Fan and played bunko with her friends for 46 years. However, spending time with her grandchildren and carrying on family traditions was at the top of her list.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald of 53 years; children, David Polek and Julie (Troy) Hill; grandchildren, Charlie, Luke and Kate.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Francis de Sales High School. So sorry to here about Barbara. My heart & prayers go out to you & your family. I still recall the days we were all on the Ma & Pa bowling league @ Forest View, had some good times their with you & Barb. Again, my prayers go out to you Ron.
