Jeffrey Kirk Obituary

Jeffrey "Fatboy" Allan Kirk
Monroe - May 6, 1955 – April 26, 2021
Jeffrey "Fatboy" Allan Kirk of Monroe, MI was born to Margaret A. Smith-Kuchcinski and Allan R. Kirk on May 6th, 1955. He passed away peacefully at his home on April 26th, 2021. Jeffrey was 65 years old. Viewing to be held at Rupp Funeral Home on April 30th from 10-12 pm, with a short service at 12.
Jeffrey graduated from Bedford High School in 1973, and attended Eastern Michigan University's music program. He went on to develop his career as a carpenter and construction superintendent. Over the course of his life, he helped construct a number of buildings across the country, from New Mexico to Michigan and everywhere in between. Any road trip with him involved pointing out those buildings and sharing the stories that went into their making.
Jeffrey was beloved by many local communities and was heavily invested in bettering the lives of those around him. An avid sports fan, Jeffrey could often be found watching Michigan football at Pete's Garage when he wasn't busy announcing wrestling matches or singing the national anthem for MHSAA or participating in the annual Kegger's golf outing. He spent many years as an assistant wrestling coach at Monroe High School and remained involved with the individuals he was fortunate enough to guide. Jeffrey also had a profound love of music, which lead to him winning the Monroe Idol contest in 2013. Whenever he had the opportunity, Jeffrey would belt out his favorite tunes at local karaoke bars or to anyone who would listen. Those who knew Fatboy will likely remember him most for his generous spirit, sense of humor, engaging storytelling, and booming voice.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Raymond Kuchkinski; and his infant sister Cheryl Lynne Kirk. He is survived by his siblings Kathryn Archibald (John) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Michael Kirk of Toledo, OH; his sons Todd Eberline of Sydney, Australia and Daniel Kirk (Emily) of Monroe, MI; his former wife and friend Michelle Eberline-Kirk of Monroe, MI; and his grandson Jordan Kirk.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the "Monroe High School Wrestling Program" or "Bedford Wrestling." Please contact family for more details.

Dear Family...Jeff always had a story to tell, a photo to show, and a song to sing from his big heart! He is now in God’s choir and sharing.

PS. Jeff sang the Lord’s Prayer at our wedding in 1978! He wore a sunshine yellow suit! Handsome guy he was! We will miss him dearly,

Caring thoughts. ❤
