Norman Matthes Obituary
Born August 16, 1950, in Adrian, MI. Norman was the son of Wilbert and Margaret "Peg" ( Doster) Matthes. He was a 1968 Ida High School Graduate. Te earned his Associates Degree from Monroe County Community College, Monroe, MI, then went on to study at Michigan State University. Norman was a Financial Planner for over 30 years working for JD Melberg Financial and retiring in 2014. He was a member of North Monroe Street Church of God , he started the youth basketball league of Redeemer, refereed boys basketball games, loved to golf, play sports, lift weights and was very close with his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include: his father, Wilbert; brothers, Marvin (Wilma), Karl (Diane); sisters, Kathy (Gary) Honomichl, Kris (John) Ray and nieces and nephews, Tennille (Ralph), Eric (Krsitina), Kari, Ian, Michael, Elise, Lindsey and Adam (Christina). He was preceded in death by his mother, Peg and his grandparents.

Our loss of a great kind hearted and gentle God fearing person will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His presence at Panera Bread will be a great loss it's self by the friends he whom he inspired on his regular visits.

I am so saddened to learn of Norman's passing. Norman was at our 50th class reunion in September and had us all laughing. He was a joy to know and a genuine person to be around. I pray the Good Lord will help you all find comfort and peace with his transition from this world. God Bless.
