Delores Hoaas Delores Hoaas of Montevideo died Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 96. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 9, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Pastor Marie Eckberg will officiate and burial will be in Lac qui Parle Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday. Delores June Johnson was born June 27, 1926, in Cerro Gordo Township to Birdeen and Amanda (Ulstad) Johnson, the oldest daughter of 10 children. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Delores was united in marriage to Elwood Johnson on March 2, 1946. She was then united in marriage to John Hoaas on May 25, 1991, at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Montevideo. Delores worked at Luther Haven Nursing Home and Granite Manor as the housekeeping supervisor. She was a very talented crafter and crafted many items with her talents of knitting, crocheting, quilting and many others. Delores was an exceptional baker and was well known for her sugar cookies and lemon bars. Delores enjoyed bowling, making lefsa, going to her lake home, but ultimately her favorite activity was spending time with her family and friends. Delores is survived by her son, Todd (Melissa) Johnson; grandchildren, Debra (Joe) Lechner, Jennee (Charlie) Cox, Zachary Johnson, and Victoria Johnson (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Heather, Joe, Jay, Jacobe, Erika, Delany and Carly; sisters, Violet (Dale) Kleensness, Ruth Ann (Paul) Sletten, and Patricia Munsterman; daughter-in-law, Diane Johnson; and many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Elwood Johnson; husband, John Hoaas; children, Jerome "Jerry" and Eldon; siblings, Roy, Archie, Robert, Milton, Birdeen Jr. and Alice.
