I too was one who came under his influence. My wife, Vanessa and I will always thank him and Roberta for their kind touch in our time when I was stationed there as an Army Chaplain. Our last visit was when I came out about a year ago to see family and we had breakfast together at Denny's. As usual, he had the right words for my thoughts and questions. He was a man of prayer, of conviction and will sorely be missed with many fond memories when we attended ST John's back in the late 1980's and early 1990's. David & Vanessa McMillan

Fr. Patience is remembered fondly at the Episcopal Church of the Savour where he served as Rector. Prayers for the repose of his soul will be offered at the Sunday Eucharist. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

My grandfather was a kind, wise man whose stories would always fascinate me and whose humor was wonderful, even in old age. I loved him very much and I will miss him deeply, like most of those who knew him will. He made church seem sacred to me again, despite my lack of religion. He was an influential man who had a deep impact on everyone who came in contact with him. He will never be forgotten.

I was sorry to hear of Fr. Al's passing. I new had been in ill health for some time. I first got to know him well over 30 years ago when I came to Hanford to care for the great Murray Harris organ in the Church of the Savior. I always treasured my trips to Hanford because it would be a chance to visit with Fr. Al. I was so disappointed when he left for Dallas. Years later, we reconnected when he was at St. John's Chapel in Monterey. I waited for him after church one morning and met him in the rose garden where I got a huge bear hug from him. Godspeed Father Al.
