Alfred Myers Obituary

Alfred Raymond "Bill" Myers, Age 84 of Pebble Beach. Passed away February 3, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Myers was a resident of the Monterey peninsula for over 60 years. He was a plant manager in the wholesale meat business for 42 years prior to his retirement. A veteran of WWII in the European Theater he served 195 consecutive days of front line combat and also was the recipient of the Bronze Star. A member of the Monterey Peninsula Country Club, life time member of the B.P.O.E Monterey Lodge #1285, Northern California Seniors Golf Association and the California Seniors Golf Association. Bill enjoyed his yard, and in fact last August he won a blue ribbon in the Begonia Division at the Monterey County Fair. Bill is survived by his loving wife Cleo, three children; Craig Myers, Billy Graham and Eddie Taylor, five grandchildren; Tammy, Corinne, Danielle, David and Jennifer, seven grandchildren and on niece Jean (Warren) Overstreet. Our sincerest appreciation to Dr. Cindy Lee, Stacy & Staff; Dr. Richard Gerber & Staff, Dr. Hausdorff & Staff; The very kind and skilled CHOMP Cancer Center Staff, Salinas Valley Heart Center & Dr. Spoward, Dr. Roberts-VA Clinic, and our angels in white coats, the CHOMP Hospice Staff who so tenderly helped us to understand all there is to leaving this life with dignity and in comfort.. Special gratitude to "Charlie" our nighttime support. Though Poppy is gone from our sight, we rejoice with him as he begins everlasting life in the Kingdom of God. At his request there will be no services. Memorials in memory of Bill may be made to the; Hospice of The Central Coast, 100 Barnet Segal Lane, Monterey, CA 93940. Arrangements by The Paul Mortuary of Pacific Grove.

My condolences to the family from a 415th Infantry, Company A veteran. Surviving 175 days on the front lines is an incredible feat. I made it through but not without a few trips to aid stations. Sorry we did not spend time together. He will be missed.
