Carla Alcorn Obituary

Carla Alcorn
Aug. 8, 1949 - Jan. 18, 2018
Monterey
Carla Karola Alcorn, loving mother, U.S. Army military wife, and 23 year resident of Monterey passed away on January 18, 2018. Originally from Mainz, Germany, Carla was the daughter of Otti Fuchs, a talented Opera singer and nurse. As an adult Carla studied Hospitality Management in Bad Kreuznach, Germany and later managed several different guest service departments in Germany and across the U.S. Her talent for interior design was also showcased in numerous hotel grand openings she participated in throughout her career.
Carla dedicated her life to helping people from all walks of life. She hired and mentored recovering addicts, victims of domestic violence, burn victims, even troubled former professional football players. Meeting her favorite actor Clint Eastwood while working for the Doubletree Hotel Monterey in the late 1990's was another highlight of her career. Carla enjoyed traveling the world with her daughter Michelle and spending time with their cat Smokey. Carla loved animals and would want to be remembered for her generosity. She truly cared for people and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. A private memorial dinner with close family and friends will be held in the Spring of 2018.
Carla is survived by her daughter, Michelle Alcorn; her son Jürgen Fuchs; her brothers, Jürgen Paul Fuchs and Helmut Fuchs; her sister Gabriele Susanne Fuchs; and brother-in-law, Enoch Simpson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Michael Alcorn; her mother-in-law, Josephine Hunt Alcorn; her father-in-law James Edward Alcorn; and her brother-in-law James Earl Alcorn.

I love you Mom and I miss you very much. I think about you every moment of each day and I will continue to honor your memory by following my dreams and doing all the things you taught me. You will always be my best friend and I feel good knowing that our mother/daughter relationship can never be matched by anyone else. Thank you for being the strongest and bravest person I've ever met. You will always be my inspiration. I love you forever and always.

Your twin,
Michelle Alcorn

May the family and friends of Carla Alcorn except my condolences during this difficult time. May 2 Thessalonians 3:16 bring you some comfort. "May the Lord of peace himself give you peace constantly in every way. May the Lord be with all of you."
