MONTEREY - Fiona Wynne Fletcher was born in Woodstock, NY on December 5, 1949. She died May 27, 2010 at the age of 60. She fell ill quite suddenly and unexpectedly. She passed peacefully and gracefully.
Fiona was well-skilled in many areas and was constantly seeking knowledge of new skills and hobbies. She spent much of her life outdoors, planting flowers and gardens, observing scenes for her watercolor work and stained glass pieces. Among her many loves were doll making and repair, writing, painting, crochet, needlepoint, and singing. Some of her proudest moments were when she played the snare drum in Scottish pipes bands, both in the Monterey-Salinas Pipe Band and in the Woodstock Pipe Band. She was a Cub Scout den mother, lending her creativity and skills to being prepared. Fiona had a smile that lit up the room and was a loyal, respected and admired friend. To have known Fiona was to have been kissed by the faeries and watched over by angels. Her spirit will forever be in our hearts and in our dreams.
Fiona is survived by her sons, Bryan Boru Nolan, age 43, of Chico, CA and Allen Francis Bergquist, age 34, of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Melody Lewis, age 30, of Pacific Grove, CA; her grandson, Liam; her sisters, Gael James of New York and Regina Sadono of California.
