Helen Moreno

Helen Moreno passed away at home on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 surrounded by her husband and children. Helen was 92 years old and born in Castroville, California to Beatriz and Braulio Valdez. She was a lifelong resident of Salinas, California. Helen attended Lincoln Elementary School, Washington Middle School and was a 1948 graduate of Salinas High School. She also attended Hartnell College.She was married to Richard B Moreno in 1951 and was a loving and devoted wife to him for 71 years. Helen had a long career as a school secretary at Bardin School in the Alisal Elementary School District. She was a talented individual who enjoyed playing board games, gardening, crosswords and was a gifted quilter. She was a loving grandmother. She was a member of Madonna del Sasso Church.Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Beatriz Valdez, her brother, Israel Alcantar, her sister, Armida Chavez, and her cousin, Ernie Flores.She is survived by her husband, Richard B. Moreno; 5 children, Suzanne Moreno, Richard Moreno, Jr., Martin Moreno, Julianne (Jerry) Kulper, Carolanne (James Goulart) Moreno; Grandchildren, Khalid Rosa, Sean Moreno, Jocelyn Kulper, Ryan Moreno, Julia Kulper and Angela Goulart; Great grandchild, Bernice RosaViewing will be Tuesday, April 25, 2023, 2:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St. Salinas, CA 93901.On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., there will be a funeral Mass at Madonna del Sasso Church, 320 E.
