Jasper Hendricks Obituary
August 23, 1916 ~ April 23, 2007
PRUNEDALE – Jasper Fields Hendricks, age 90, passed away on April 23, 2007 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on August 23, 1916 in St. Joe, TX. Jasper was the former owner of the Wayside Garage in Seaside from 1946-1980. He was a past president of the Seaside Rotary with 50 years of perfect attendance. He was also a past president for the Monterey County Sheriff's Posse and a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge and American Legion. Jasper served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Hendricks of Prunedale, CA; daughters, Carolyn (Tony) Smith of Yuma, AZ and Judy (James) Hough of Prunedale; sons, Jerry (Maureen) Hendricks of Fort Mill, SC and Douglas (Patricia) Hendricks of Berkeley, CA; three grandsons, Jeffery Hendricks of Ann Arbor, MI, Steven Hendricks of Boulder, CO and Wesley Hough of Davis, CA; three granddaughters, Christina Hough, Cindy Smith-Jones and Shirley Markert, all of Prunedale; and five great-grandchildren, Anthony Markert, Nicholas Markert, Adrian Markert, Christopher Markert and Jared Blevins, all of Prunedale. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maebelle Hendricks in 1980.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 West San Luis Street, Salinas, CA 93901. Burial will follow at the Mission Memorial Park, 1915 Ord Grove, Seaside, CA 93955. Memorials may be made to: Central Coast Hospice, 945 S. Main St #101, Salinas, CA 93901.
