John Heric, 91, passed away on October 21st, 2015. He was born on October 2, 1924 in Spokane and grew up in Santa Monica where he spent much of his boyhood sailing, and surrounding himself by the ocean he loved. One highlight in his youth was when he worked on Actor Errol Flynn's boat and helped skipper it for a summer. He attended UCLA and graduated from University of Arizona with an interest in mining and engineering. John joined the Navy and became an officer and naval aviator just before the end of World War II. After leaving the Navy he moved to Hollywood and worked as an actor and lifeguard, again reconnecting to the ocean he loved. He also enjoyed surfing and volleyball. John started several businesses prior to becoming a Commercial Real Estate Broker where he struck great success. As a resident of the Monterey Peninsula for the last 40 plus years, he attended Pacific Coast Church, now known as The Center for Spiritual Awakening. John was a very generous and deeply spiritual person. He loved animals and was a supporter of the SPCA for Monterey County. He was a very smart, witty man with a keen sense of humor that he was able to share until the end of his life. John will be greatly missed. John is survived by his spouse Carla Heric of Carmel Valley, his son John Allen of Pebble Beach, his grandchildren Kendrick Allen, Parker Allen, Natalie Allen, and Rachel Allen of Pebble Beach.
