Svend will always be dear to my heart as my first principal at La Mesa School back in 1970. What an excellent administrator! He exhibited strong leadership yet was always respectful of and attuned to his teaching staff. Better yet, what a delightful soul! I will never forget his heartfelt laugh, zest for living and that wonderfully charming Danish accent. Your light will continue to shine in this world, dear Svend, and memories of you will bring smiles to many faces.❤

My wife and I were so very lucky to have been friends with Svend and his wife Dolores in the 1980s. He was such a joyous, uplifting and positive person. His tales of his adolescent life in the resistance during WWII were thrilling. His kindness and guidance of so many was legendary. Words fail me but his heart never failed to reach those in need.

Svend hired me to teach at La Mesa School in 1968. I remember that a group of us went skiing at Dodge Ridge. We skied down the face time and time again til the lifts shut down. He was a wonderful man who loved life. I always remember him with that great smile!
