Warren Schmidt Obituary
May 24, 1922 ~ January 11, 2012
CASTROVILLE - Warren P. Schmidt, born May 24, 1922 in Stockton, passed away at his home on January 11, 2012. After graduating from Stockton High School, Warren was a lifelong farmer in San Joaquin County except for service in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Warren farmed in the San Joaquin Delta where his grandfather, Warren Jones (Roberts Island) and his father, Howard H. Schmidt (Upper Jones Tract) had farmed. He was a member of the Asparagus Growers Association, serving one term as president in the 1960's. Following his retirement, Warren and his wife moved to Castroville where they had vacationed for many years.
Warren is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Lisa Schmidt of Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, in 2002 and his daughter, Ann, in 2008.
At his request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Haggin Museum, Victory Park, 1201 N. Pershing Ave., Stockton, 95203 or Westland House, 100 Barnet Segal Lane, Monterey, 93940.

Hi Howie & Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear about Skeet. some of my fondest childhood memories are staying with all of you for summer visits. Skeet & Jean were always so sweet & gracious. I remember Skeet taking us to the ranch for a picnic finishing the day with a leisurely boat ride along the delta which I've never forgotten.

Hello Howard and Lisa,
I am so sorry that you lost your father, Howard. I only met you once, but your father was very dear to me, as well as your mother. I have known them as long as my parents farmed the land at Roberts Island. That is where my grandparents began their lives together.I am sure you know how special the ranch was to your father, just like it still is to my family. A true spirit has layed to rest. I will miss him. I would send him pictures of us just to lift his spirits, when he stopped driving.
