BOYD, Bonnie, passed away on November 6, 2013. She would have been 59 years old on November 9. Born in Tuscaloosa, AL, she was a graduate of Auburn University and worked in Montgomery for the State of Alabama as a computer programmer until her retirement in 2009. Her most satisfying job was researching various data bases to aid public safety professionals throughout Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents C.W. and Grace Boyd of Tuscaloosa, and her spouse, David Pennington. She is survived by her brother Spence Boyd (Diane) of Ocean Springs, MS; and her sister Patricia Rumore (Sam) of Birmingham, AL, as well as her nieces Claire Rumore and Theresa Rumore, and her nephew Samuel Rumore; and her loving companion Jerry Husted. She will be lovingly remembered for her beautiful greenhouse, flower beds, and her many creative talents. For online condolences visit www.ridoutsprattvillechapel.com.

Bonnie was a friend and fellow cactus collector. We met back in the 1980s and traded plants for many years. We always enjoyed "speaking cactus". I am so sorry to hear that she is gone.
