Carol Spinks Obituary
Carol Whatley Spinks passed away on Friday December 23, 2016. She was born on December 25, 1933 in Lee County, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by parents, Wilmer L Whatley and Jewel Capps Whatley and sister, Gayle Whatley Lurie.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry Spinks; sons Wayne Spinks (Debra) and Richard Spinks (Susan); and two grandsons, Matt Spinks (Rachelle) and Jeff Spinks.
Visitation was held Tuesday December 27, 2016 at noon at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home in Opelika, AL followed by a graveside service at 2:00. Reverend Earl Ballard officiated.
Memorials may be made to Gladys Whatley Blanton Nursing Scholarship Fund at East Alabama Medical Center, 2000 Pepperell Parkway, Opelika, AL 36801.
Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Dear Harry,
I am so sorry to learn of your precious Carol's passing! I always loved seeing the two of you together at events held at the Archives. I miss your smile and your happy greeting at the front desk!
Please know that I am praying for you and your family. I pray that God will hold you close and may sweet memories provide comfort and grace to all of you.
