LUKA, Mr. Earl, commander USN retired, 79, a resident of Stillwa-ters, passed away Tuesday, Au-gust 19, 2003. A private memorial mass for the family was held Thur-sday, August 21, 2003 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Tallas-see, Alabama. Father Lynch offici-ated.Mr. Luka honorably served his country for 23 years in the United States Navy and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. After retir-ing from service he worked with Merrill Lynch in Memphis, Tennes-see for 12 years. Mr. Luka is sur-vived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Virginia France Luka; one son, William C. Luka (Susan) of Fairhope, AL; three daughters, Pa-mela Luka Dorfman (David) of Newport News, VA, Ann Luka Ha-milton (George) of Augusta, GA and Cathy Luka Hawthorne (R. J. Corky) of Montgomery, AL; eight grandchildren, Tamara Leeson, Bri-an Gardner, Will Luka, Sarah Luka, Allison Luka, James Hawthorne, Charlie Hawthorne, Robert Dorf-man and one great-grandchild, Olivia Leeson.In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Stillwa-ters Drive, Dadeville, Alabama, 36853 or to your favorite charity.Alabama Funeral Homes and Cremation Centers of Dadeville are in charge of the arrange-ments.
