Edie was a sweet and kind lady. We carpooled with Emily and Jacob for a couple of years to Queen of Mercy School. My children Jake and Kate enjoyed Mrs. Hunker so much. Sometimes she would stop by Dr. Hunker's office, run in and come out with a soda for the children. They both told me that story when I told them of Edie's passing. Emily and Jacob were so sweet. Marie, I don't know you as well because you were already at Catholic. I would see your parents at the Vigil Mass at St. Peter quite often and we would always ask each other about the children. Your mother was amazing and wonderful. I know she is with your Dad in Heaven now. I also know it is difficult to lose a parent. Memories of your Mother will help and I am sure you have many wonderful memories of her. You and your family will be in our prayers! Christie Ennis

I was so sorry to hear of Edie's passing. I had worked with Edie in the UAB Medical ICU for 3 years. I knew her husband Fred as well. We have a mutual friend, Bebe Goetter, who kept me up to date on Edie. Although I haven't seen Edie in a very long time I will always remember how kind Edie was. I am sure Fred met her and they are once more united. May your memories of them help you during this hard time.
