Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. from Murdock Chapel AME Church, Pike Road, AL with Pastor Tony Scott, officiating. Burial will follow in Eastwood Cemetery. Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, Inc., Directing.He leaves to cherish his memories six daughters, Sandra P. Evans, Leslie J. (Larry M.) Gilbert, Matilda L. Pitts, Yvonne D. Pitts, Wilma G. (Herman) Smith, all of Montgomery, AL and Valerie P. (Sylvester) Edwards, Deatsville, AL; two sons, Jesse J. (Antonia) Pitts, Jr. and Kelly O. Pitts, both of Montgomery, AL; three brothers, Wilbert Pitts, Montgomery, AL, preceded him in death, Charlie (Mary) Hunter, Pike Road, AL and Little Joe (Sandra) Pitts, Montgomery, AL; three sisters, Minnie Pinkston, Detroit, MI, preceded him in death, Ethel Lockley, Jossie (Leroy) Abbott, Detroit, MI; 19 precious grandchildren; five darling great-grandchildren; one special aunt, Essie Burke, Owings Mill, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
