KENNETH JENNINGS Obituary

JENNINGS, Kenneth Wilton of Montgomery, passed away Sunday, May 7. He was born in Lebanon, TN. on July 25, 1925, the son of the late Ella Mae Hobbs and Early Erby Jennings. He has three sisters, Bobbie Johnson, Joann Stewart and Joy Phillips; and one brother, Harold Jennings. He was predeceased by one brother, Wall-ace Jennings. He was a graduate of Cumberland Law University, in Lebanon, TN. He was a Navy veter-an of World War II and the Korean conflict. During World War II, he was stationed aboard a destroyer oper-ating in the Atlantic. He was a legal assistance officer at the naval base in Jacksonville, Florida during the Korean War. Mr. Jennings was a re-tired district manager of the Mont-gomery Social Security Office. He was a member of First Baptist Church and served as a teacher of an Adult Sunday School Class for many years. He volunteered at the Caring Center at First Baptist and also served many years as a volun-teer at Baptist South. Mr. Jennings was predeceased by his wife Bet-tye, and their son, Kenny Jennings. He is survived by four children and their spouses; Susan and David Bennett of Memphis, TN; Sharon and Charlie Smith of Tuscaloosa; Ramsey and Laura Jennings of La-Grange, GA; and Danny and Laura Jennings of Montgomery. His grandchildren are Dave Bennett and his wife Paige; Phillip Bennett and his wife, Lisa; John Bennett; Chas and Matt Smith; Ramsey Jr., Hillyer, Campbell, and Edwin Jen-nings; and Taylor and Payne Jen-nings. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Leak-Memory Chapel followed by a private family burial service. The family requests any donations be made to St. Jude Children's Re-search Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of your choice.Leak-Memory Chapel Directing.
