FRANKLIN, Ms. Ruby Floyd, aresident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away onThursday, July 10, 2008, at theage of 72 years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July15, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Alabama Heritage Funeral HomeChapel with Rev. Gary Millerofficiating. Burial will follow inAlabama Heritage Cemetery.Visitation will be held Monday, July 14, 2008, from 5-7p.m. at the funeral home aswell as one hour prior to thefuneral on Tuesday. Ms.Franklin was preceded indeath by her parents, Mr.Robert Lloyd Floyd and Ms.Mary Lucy Prince Floyd ofRoba, AL; and her brother,Mr. Robert ""Bob"" Floyd ofNiceville, FL. She is survivedby her husband of 40 years,George M. Franklin; her children, Robert T. (Lisa) Floyd,Lucy Mariah Franklin, GeorgeMelvin ""Buck"" (Riki) Franklin,Georgia Ann Franklin Dougherty, Linda Franklin Johnsonand Susan Franklin (John)Holler; her twelve grandchildren, Robert Thomas Floyd,Rebecca Floyd, Kate Floyd,Jeanna Vice, Connor Franklin, Tyler Franklin, Leigh AnnDougherty Loughridge, Jennifer Dougherty Pouncy, Jessica Johnson Asher, HannahJohnson, Kim Harris, KarenRidings; and six great grandchildren, Dustin Dougherty,Molly Kate Johnson, RachelHarris, Lindsay Harris, KatelynHarris, and Logan Cogle; hersister, Ms. Betty Ann FloydCreel of Crystal River, FL; andnumerous nieces and nephews. Ruby was reared in Macon County and graduatedfrom Tuskegee High School.She then moved to Montgomery, Alabama, where shecompleted business school.She was a loyal employee of29 years with W.S. Newell, Inc.She was a member of Fairview United MethodistChurch. She was a participant in Relay For Life and supporter of the American Cancer Society. In lieu of flowers,donations may be made inher honor to Fairview UnitedMethodist Church BuildingFund or the American CancerSociety.
