Wallace Owens Obituary
Weoka - Wallace Berry Owens, age 82 passed away at his home in Weoka on Monday, July 9th, 2018 after a prolonged illness. He was born April 7th, 1936 in Houston County. He graduated from Dothan High School in 1955. He married and moved to Montgomery, Alabama and later opened Berry Optical. Upon retiring from many years in business, he enjoyed gardening, entertaining for friends and family, hunting, and fishing. Mr. Owens is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers Millard, Pete, George, and Floyd Owens. He is survived by his wife Nina Darby Owens, daughter Rosanna Owens Parker, son-in-law Russell W. Parker, grandson Micah Wallace Parker, brother Billy Owens, sisters Hellon Dawkins, Gloria "Purt" Peters, and June Holland. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Gassett Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 11:00 a.m. at Carolina Cemetery in Weoka, Alabama with Roger Frazure officiating. Rosanna and Family our family would like to say how sad we are for you! We are here for you if you need anything. We are praying that God put His arms around you and give you all peace that only God can give. Your Dad was an Awesome Uncle and so funny He always was a welcome site because he made our daddy light up when he came. I laughed so hard one time that I was sore the next day at work. He was also kind and thoughtful! He loved his family.
