Mack McClure Obituary

Mack Everett McClure 2nd son of the late Mack and Georgia McClure, was born on October 1, 1930 in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He passed away on February 11, 2012 at the age of 81. Mach was educated in the Norristown School District. He worked as a supervisor at the construction company of Mahoney and Troast for over 30 years. During his full time tenure with Mahoney and Troast, he also operated his own tree trimming and removal service with his sons. He retired from the construction profession in 1991. Mack immediately went to work as a bus driver for the Springfield School District where the school community affectionately referred t him as "Mr. Mac". He worked for the Springfield School District for 14 years before going into his second retirement in 2006. While working hard to support his family, Mack still found time to indulge in numerous hobbies including fishing, boating, and motorcycling. The listing of hobbies would not be complete without mentioning his passion for NASCAR and the whole gambit of motor sports. Mack leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memories, his devoted wife Shirley, seven children; Miriam, Mack II (wife Marianne), Terri, Carla (husband Steve), Byron (wife Zira), Sterling (wife Cora), and Kenneth (wife Corrine). He was preceded in death by his daughter Georgia. Mack also leaves to mourn, seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marjorie McClure Johnson of Ambler, PA, Gloria McClure Johnson of Norristown, PA, one brother, John McClure, Limerick, PA as well as a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services are going to be Saturday, February 18th, 10:00 at the George Washington Memorial Park Chapel, Stenton and Butler Pike in Plymouth Meeting. Friends may call from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at the Chapel. Internment will follow in the George Washington Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Richard C. Johnson Jr. Funeral Home, Norristown.
