Philip Koller Obituary

Philip P. Koller Philip P. Koller, 83 of Drums PA, formerly of Ambler died peacefully on Thursday December 17, 2009 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William and Catherine (nee MacGuire) Koller. He was a US Navy veteran from 1943 to 1946 and served in the Pacific Theater and the Philippine Liberation and was a survivor of the sinking of the U.S.S. Salute 294 Minesweeper. Phil liked to cook, Play Cards and Bingo, working in his Woodshop and spending time with his family He was a Carpenter by trade and worked for the former Bounds Wood Working he retired in 1994. Mr. Koller was a Life Active Member of the Wissahickon Fire Company, a Founding member of Boy Scout Troop 540 in Ambler and a Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his Wife Mary E.(nee Robinson Koller his daughters Rosemary(Bill) Roynan of Harleysville, Connie (John) Boyle of Vidalia, GA, Franny Koller of Souderton, Cassy (Jim) Shanda of White Haven, Theresa (Vince) Catanzaro of Ambler, Mary (Bob) Ferraro of Drexel Hill, and his son Philip (Margie) Koller of Ambler. He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, 13 Great Grand Children, 1 Great Great Granddaughter and his brother Bob (Debby) Koller of Scotch Plains, NJ. He was preceded in Death Son David, Grandson Billy, Grand Daughter Angel Marie, Great Grand Daughter Cassondra. Relatives and friends called Sunday December 20, 2009 and Monday December 21 at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler. Funeral Mass at was at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Ambler with Rev. Eugene Tully, Pastor as Celebrant. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken. Remembrances in his name to Wissahickon Fire Co., 245 E. Race St., Ambler, PA. 19002. Or a Charity of the Donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.

My prayers are with you during this trying times. Phil was a strong man who not only knew to do the right thing, he did the right thing even at times when it would have been easier to do nothing. He will be missed by a lot of people outside the family. He is one of the few who did accomplish many things between his date of birth and his date of date. I do miss him.
