June Mason

1932 - 2025

On Monday, April 21st, June Rohde Mason passed to her eternal reward surrounded by her family and loved ones. June was a devoted daughter, loyal wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was 92 years old. June was born June 20th, 1932, in Tremonton, Utah, the seventh and youngest child of Henry Christian and Mayme Frederickson Rohde. She was a 1950 graduate of Bear River High School in Garland, Utah and a proud Aggie, having graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah with a bachelor's degree in Interior Design.

June began her long and successful business career as a bookkeeper at the local hardware store in Tremonton. During the early years of her career, she met the love of her life, William Boyd Mason, known as Boyd to those who knew him. June and Boyd were married June 24th, 1955, in Salt Lake City and thus began a 55 year romance and partnership. Boyd and June decided to move to Soda Springs, Idaho to begin the next stage of their professional careers and to build their life and family. They were blessed with four beautiful daughters during those years in Soda Springs- Bobbie Ann, Marchell, Wendy and Camille. June set an example for her daughters of what it meant to be a well-rounded, intelligent, successful and loving mother. While always placing the priorities of her family first, June continued her education, obtaining her K-12 teaching certificate from Utah State University, serving as a substitute teacher in the Soda Springs school district. Concurrently, she and Boyd together built a series of successful businesses that continue to leave an impact on the Soda Springs community and economy. She was the co-developer/owner/operator of the Brigham Lodge which to this day still greets tired travelers as they arrive to Soda Springs. She also played a roll in the development and maintenance of Rhead and Mason and later MASRHE LLC - a conglomerate of properties across Caribou County that still provides housing for many local individuals.

June loved music. She played the violin and cello in high school and at Utah State University. While at Utah State, she was also a baton twirler for the USU marching band. She had a beautiful alto voice and loved classical music. She was a member of the Harmoneers singing group in Soda Springs. She was a gifted visual artist and enjoyed creating with oils, watercolor and India ink. She was a talented seamstress and was able to lovingly sew special outfits and projects for her family and home including costumes, prom dresses and drapes. She had a green thumb and loved to garden, taking joy in her flower gardens and indoor potted plants. Her interests were incredibly diverse. She was a golfer, a skier and loved to ride snowmobiles with Boyd through the Blackfoot Reservoir, enjoying all of God's beautiful creations. She was an early adaptor to fitness and wellness. She loved to do her Jack LeLanne workouts and later would do early morning and late afternoon workouts at the fitness center or the church . She loved to play bridge with friends and card games with her family. June was also an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining at her home at Mountain View Avenue and hosting gatherings at the family house at the Blackfoot Reservoir. She loved to travel and in her later years was able to go to many places around the world by air, ship and car. As much as she loved to travel, she loved nothing more than to return and be in her home and beloved town of Soda Springs.

June was also a member of the Soda Springs Homemakers Club, the Pink Ladies, and taught cooking classes as a 4-H leader. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Cub Scout leader, primary teacher, compassionate service leader, relief society counselor, and ward librarian. She was always a faithful ministering sister.

June is survived by her daughters Bobbie Ann (Brad) Egbert, Marchell (Jay) Baker, Wendy (Kevin) Johnson, and Camille (Jim) DeBloom. She also has 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her parents Henry Christian and Mayme Fredrickson Rohde; her eternal companion William Boyd Mason; her four brothers Henry, Joseph, Keith and Ray; and her two sisters Lois and Beverly; as well as her great grandson Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:45 A.M. with a viewing held prior from 9:30-10:30 A.M. All services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 361 S 3rd E, Soda Springs, ID. Burial will take place at the Riverview Cemetery, 175 E 1200 S, Tremonton, UT at approximately 3 P.M. June taught us by words and example to be resilient, hard working, faithful to our beliefs, and devoted to our family. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren she leaves behind.
