Ilene MacLennan

Ilene Anita (Jones) MacLennan, widely known as Mimi Mac, passed peacefully in the arms of her son and daughter-in-law. Mimi Mac was born in Waldron, AR in June of 1941 to Jay Donald Jones and Fern Dolores Jones. Ilene was the great granddaughter of Gerhard and Wilhelmina Jutten who settled in the Uncompahgre Valley of Colorado in 1882. Ilene grew up on a ranch west of Ridgway, CO, owned by her stepfather's uncle and aunt, Will and Loraine Harney. She attended Ridgway Elementary and High School. She married Roderick Fraser MacLennan from Ouray, and lived there until moving to Ridgway, then Colona near Montrose. She worked at the Citizens State Bank for 26 years. Ilene enjoyed teaching others the practice of banking and made a positive impact on her local community. In her free time, she loved being outdoors– fishing (catching was optional), riding horses, jeeping in the mountains, and gardening. More than anything else, she prioritized spending time with her family and God. Ilene discipled the love of Christ to anyone who would listen (and even to those who didn't). She was an active member of the community throughout her entire life and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Ilene poured her knowledge into anyone asking for advice and found true joy in watching others succeed. She was a friend and mentor everyone would like to have. Everyone needs a Mimi Mac.
Ilene is survived by her son, Aaron MacLennan; daughter-in-law, Paula MacLennan; granddaughter, Ashleigh Nichols; grandson, Garret MacLennan; sister, Evelyn Stadel; brother, Walter Domka; sister-in-law, Ginny Domka; brother William Domka; and many cousins. Ilene was preceded in death by her husband Rod, her mother and father, three infant sons and one infant daughter.
