Jerome Suppes Obituary
Jerry was born in Montrose, CO on August 29, 1937.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Katherine Suppes, his sisters, Theresa Williams and Josephine Wilson, and his brothers John and Lawrence.
He is survived by his sister, Katherine Linsacum; his sons, Robert (Shelia, deceased), Ron (Karen), and Pat (Alison); 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Jerry met Donna Sheets in the 5th grade and they were basically inseparable until her passing, August 21, 2024. Donna and Jerry graduated from Olathe High School in 1956 and married on February 19, 1957.
Jerry subsequently enlisted in the Air Force, after which he obtained his college degree and started teaching at Montrose Junior High. Jerry loved working with the students coming into junior high as children, and watching them leave as young adults.
Living in Montrose provided a great place to raise their three boys. Family was always a priority, and we spent many great weekends fishing at Blue Mesa Reservoir and Grand Mesa, boating and camping, then Sweitzer Lake, water skiing, as the boys got older. Jerry and Donna watched an incredible number of OTA baseball games with the boys during the summer, and followed Ron throughout his school athletics.
After retiring as Principal at Olathe Junior High, Donna and Jerry bought a camper trailer and traveled the United States, settling in McAllen, TX for the winters. After their traveling days, they lived in Mesquite, NV for several years then migrated to Grand Junction. With Donna and Jerry's health declining, they moved to Parker, CO in 2021, to be closer to Ron. Jerry was devoted to Donna, and became her primary caregiver through her struggles with dementia later in life.
Jerry passed away, peacefully, in Parker, on September 10, 2025.

A life well lived! Mr. Suppes was a great guy, as all the Suppes clan are! I hope he is sitting down with Donna to reminisce of their life on Earth!

I am so sorry to read that Jerry has passed. I worked with Jerry at Montrose Junior High in the late 60s and early 70s. I remember him as being kind, cheerful and thoughtful.
