William Robert "Bob" Bullock
August 25, 1936 - January 18, 2024
William Robert "Bob" Bullock passed away January 18, 2024 at his home in Olathe, CO., He was 87. Our man with nine lives fought the long hard battle but the cancers ganged up on him and he couldn't beat them all at once.
Bob was born on August 25, 1936 in Anthony, Kansas. He was the youngest of 11 children born to John Harvey and Clara Oliver Bullock. When Bob was about 5 years old, the family moved to Delta where he got his education and started his working career at the local roller skating rink. When he got older he worked in the timber on Kebler Pass and in Norwood before starting his career as a uranium miner in the West End and in California.
Robert Bullock married Donna Harris in Delta in 1958. They had a daughter Cheryl who gave them three grandchildren, Kody Reeder, Kasey Bissell and Jade (Taylor) Bissell. After Donna passed away he married Charlotte Neal and gained her daughter Cindy (David) Haga and son Ricky (Cathy) Barz along with six more grandchildren, Kami (Brad) Knapp, Cody (Michelle) Haga, Casey (Haley) Haga, Kyle Barz, Amber (Daniel) Beal, Ty (Shelbby) Barz, and they are now Blessed with 21 great-grandchildren.
Bob has always been a kid at heart so he participated in all of the kids' fun including fishing, skateboarding, flying kites, riding go carts etc, etc… Everyone that knew him admired his unique western look with his moustache and big black hat. He always had a lending hand to build, fix, repair, help or give instructions with anything you needed at the drop of a hat.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings, wife Donna, sons-in-law Ron Reeder and Clete Bissell. He is survived by his sister Dortha George, wife Charlotte, their three children and nine grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the San Juan Cancer Center, 600 S 5th St., Montrose, CO 81401 in Bob's name.
A special thanks to Dr. Wisler, Dr. Tjan, the San Juan Cancer Center & NCP nurses for their amazing care, comfort and support.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service. The service is planned for Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta, CO, burial to follow at Mesa View Cemetery.
