Joseph Alan Vano peacefully passed away March 1, 2025 at the age of 80.
He was born on December 23, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents John S. Vano and Mary Obusek Vano, his brother, John Vano, and sister Maryann Vano Gorney.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann Pearson Vano; three children, Joseph 'Joey' Vano, Therese 'Terri' Teague (Justin), and Christopher 'CJ' Vano (Makela). Joe was also survived by his grandson, Bray Alan Teague. Bray was the apple of Joe's eye, and Bray very much loved and adored his 'Poppo'.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church, 117 Montreat Road, Black Mountain, NC on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 4 p.m. Internment Service will be held at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 962 Old Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 12 p.m. with a lunch following the Internment Service. The location of the lunch will be announced at the service.
In lieu of flowers, please send prayers and/or donations to Tunnels to Towers Foundation (t2t.org).

I am so sad to hear of Mr. Vano´s passing. I will never forget the night of kitchen dancing at the Vano´s, resulting in Mr. Vano having to play Santa at school because my dad ended up in the hospital, LOL. I have such wonderful memories with Terri, CJ, and Mr. and Mrs. Vano. Sending you all love and peace during this difficult time.
