October 31, 1987 - September 7, 2022
Alexander Taylor Patton, age 34, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, in a tragic drowning accident at Lake Santeetlah.
Alex was born in Morganton, Oct. 31, 1987, to Jeff and Susan Patton. Alex, along with his husband, River Echeverria, owned Tree Weaves in Asheville. They traveled the country installing their creative and playful custom netting while weaving themselves into people's lives.
A celebration of life was held with Alex and River's families and around 150 of Alex's closest friends in a beautiful outdoor setting at Fines Creek. Alex embraced life, friends and family. He loved being outdoors where he enjoyed camping, swimming, volleyball, slacklining, dancing, building, creating art, and hanging out in his Tree Weaves. His infectious smile, laughter, creativity, generosity, and adventurous spirit will be greatly missed by all that loved him. Alex was only with us a short time but he lived more than most, and he will be in our hearts forever.
Alex was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alfred Patton.
He is survived by his husband, River Echeverria; parents, Jeff and Susan Patton; sister, Samantha Patton; grandparents, Mary Dean Taylor, Cobb Taylor, and Norma Patton; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Our family is comforted by the outpouring of love for Alex.
