Gail Baker VALDESE Gail Brooks Baker, 63, of Valdese, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Born in Haywood County, N.C. Jan. 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Jack Brooks and Ida Mae Aldridge Brooks. Gail was raised in the Baptist Faith. She was an avid seamstress and loved flowers, antiques, and singing. She retired from Leviton with over 33 years of service. Gail is survived by her husband of 27 years, Larry Baker of the home; a son, Grayson Ryan Saine of Valdese; her mother, Ida Mae Aldridge Brooks of Marion; step-daughters, Lori Cuthbertson and Susan Campbell and her husband, Randy; a step-son, Christopher Baker and his wife, Angie; grandchildren, Sierra Campbell, Hannah Baker, and Katelyn Baker; siblings, Brenda Brooks Jenkins, Ronnie Brooks, Wilma Brooks Harris, Paul Brooks, and Earl Brooks; and a number of nieces and nephews who were very dear to her. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Revs. Rocky Branch and Daniel McMahan officiating.
