A great man and good friend. Always wanting to help others. Now the Lord can look after George! As a Boone native and ASU grad, George and I always had a small wager when LR and ASTC (aka ASU) played football. I attended the last game that ASU played in Hickory to see my mighty Mountaineers skin the Bears. In the third quarter with about a 40 point lead by the Bears, George came over the PA system and said, "I hope my good friend Mr. John Greene is enjoying the ball game". I wanted to pay my debt with a 2 dollar bill but that was more than our wager. He did frame the 1 dollar bill and put it on his office wall along with my note that accused him of polluting the air above LR Stadium. George had a way of making everyone feel better about themselves.Loved his Lord, Family, fellow workers, community and sports.God bless the family.
