Jimmy Dean Carswell, 66, of Morganton, suddenly passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022.
Jimmy was born in Burke County to the late Frank Vernon Carswell and Annie Edna Hurt Carswell.
Jimmy loved to fish, hunt and to go golfing. He enjoyed woodworking and was a jack of all trades. More than anything he loved spending time with his grandson, Dean, who always looked forward to Pawpaw's grilled steaks.
Jimmy is survived by his son, Bobby Carswell (Chelsea); grandson, Dean Carswell, Jimmy's namesake; brother, David Carswell (Sandra); niece, Kendra (Evan); nephew, Ben; cousin, Don Carswell (Jan); and numerous distant relatives. Jimmy also had close friends all over the Carolinas who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, at Sossoman Funeral Home.
