Laura Eagan Obituary
December 11, 1974 - August 16, 2025
Laura Doty Bryant Eagan, 50, of Morganton, NC, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Born in San Antonio, TX, on December 11, 1974, she was the daughter of Ronald Bryant and Rebecca Brownfield Bryant of Raleigh, NC.
Laura's family moved to Pennsylvania in 1989, and she graduated from Cumberland Valley High School. She was full of fun and loved being with her friends. She loved making people laugh, roller coasters, and Disney World. A talented musician, Laura played piano, flute, and piccolo. She met her future husband, Christopher Eagan, in Chemistry Lab at Cumberland Valley.
Laura graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University with a major in education. She wanted to be a teacher since she was in kindergarten.
She began teaching at Mull Elementary in Morganton. Laura had a lifelong desire to make an impact on children's lives. When she and Christopher married in 2000, they chose to make Morganton their permanent home.
In addition to her parents, Laura is survived by her husband, Christopher Eagan; daughter, Caitlyn Eagan of Morganton; brother, Christopher Bryant of Woodbridge, VA; father-in-law, James Eagan of Mechanicsburg, PA; brother-in-law, Pat Eagan of Mechanicsburg; sister-in-law, Christy Eagan of Mechanicsburg; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, co-workers, and hundreds of former students. Laura will always be a presence in their lives.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Fredrick officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
