Leonardo "Leo" Abrego Orellana

October 6, 1964 - September 20, 2022

Leonardo "Leo" Abrego Orellana, 57, of Morganton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022.

Born in San Rafael, Chalatenango, El Salvador, Oct. 6, 1964, he was the son of the late Leonardo Orellana and Jesus Abrego Orellana.

Leo was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was a hardworking man and loved his job at Molded Fiberglass. He also enjoyed music and working on old muscle cars. Leo was a kind, friendly, selfless, and was a lover of nature.

Leo is survived by his daughter, Cambria Orellana; son, Leonardo Orellana Jr.; siblings, Rosa Deras, Sonia Abrego, Ernesto Orellana, and Renee Orellana, all of New York, Doris Abrego of El Salvador, and Oscar Orellana of Durham; a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his best friend, the mother of his daughter, Brandy Orellana.

In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by a sister, Ana Orellana of New York.

The funeral Mass will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Whittington officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
