Carl J. Lepon

Carl J Lepon ORLANDO, Fla. — Carl J Lepon, formerly of Lorain and Avon Lake, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Orlando, Florida. He was 88 years old. Mr. Lepon was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 7, 1925 to the late Joseph and Gussie Schultz Lepon. He attended Lorain High School after which he joined the Army Air Force and served in WII. Following his service in World War II, he returned to Lorain and attended college for a time and began his career in the family's retail furniture business, Lee Furniture. n May 11, 1952, in Cleveland, he married the former Patricia Sperber, his wife of over 59 years when she passed away in November 2011. In 1992, Carl and Patricia relocated from Avon Lake, Ohio to the Orlando area and became members of Congregation Ohev Shalom. While still in Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Lepon were active members at Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue in Lorain, Ohio. Mr. Lepon is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Lepon of McLean, VA and Rabbi Elimelech Randy (Shoshanah) Lepon of Ramat Bet Shemish, Israel. He is also survived by his sister, Sally Bernes of Florida; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services were held at Ohev Shalom Cemetery with Rabbi David Kay officiating. The family requests contributions in memory of Carl J.
