David D. Lepon

David D. Lepon, age 72, of Lexington, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. Born on June 1, 1953, in Dearborn, Michigan, David was the son of the late David Sr. and Marie (Susack) Lepon. His family moved from Detroit to Farmington shortly before his birth, where he spent his formative years.

David graduated from Cody High School in Detroit and went on to work as a cook at The Ponch and later at Montgomery Wards Warehouse in Allen Park, dedicating many years to his career. He also pursued his passion for baseball, playing in the minor leagues and traveling across the country. Though his time in professional sports was brief, it left a lasting impression on his life.

David was a devoted brother to his living siblings: Dianna Edwards (Arizona), Gloria Regis (Michigan), Marcy Curosh (Arizona), Debbie Neal (Florida), and Rene Ryan (Arizona). He was preceded in death by his sister, Pattie Steffes, in 2009. While David was never a biological father, he was a caring and supportive figure to Davey and to his wife's teenage children, whom he helped guide for many years.

Throughout his life, David demonstrated resilience and generosity. He lived with John and Gloria from 2012 to 2014, supporting them during challenging times. He worked at Goodwill on 32nd Street in Port Huron and later returned to live with Gloria in the summer of 2017, remaining there until his passing. During these years, David worked unloading trucks at Meijer's until his retirement in early 2024.

David cherished the tranquility of Worth Township, where he enjoyed feeding deer, caring for his four cats, and tending to the land by gathering and burning fallen branches. His love for nature and animals was evident to all who knew him.

In his final days, David was cared for by compassionate nurses and doctors at McLaren Hospital in Port Huron. He spent his last week in the ICU, surrounded by kindness and support. David's legacy of generosity continued after his passing, as he gave "the gift of life" to others, reflecting the selflessness he showed throughout his life.

David will be remembered for his warmth, dedication, and the positive impact he had on those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday - December 27, 2025 at St. Edwards on the Lake Catholic Church.
