Charlyne May Shauver

1938 - 2022

Charlyne May Shauver (nee Sime), 83, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Avon, died Monday, March 7, 2022 at her home in Cape Coral. She was born in Lorain, Ohio on October 25, 1938 to Charles and Cecelia (nee Whyte) Sime. She graduated from Lorain High School, attended St. John College, Kent State University, and graduated from St. Alexis School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse working at St. Alexis Hospital and Metro General Hospital in Cleveland for about 10 years.She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Avon, but belonged to All Saints Byzantine Catholic Church in Cape Coral, Florida. She enjoyed taking care of her Parakeet "Sweetheart" and her two kittens. She loved horses. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing her own clothes, and a terrific baker. She is survived by her husband: William R. Shauver; 1 son: Michael Shauver; and very good friend: Ruth Leising. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Billy, who passed away in 2016. The family will receive friends at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of parlor service at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to "Love-A-Stray" Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 422 Avon, Ohio 44011 to help rescue and find homes for cats.
