Donald Eicher Sr., 86, of Vermilion, died Monday, March 7, 2022 at his home after a lengthy illness.He was born November 2, 1935 in McKeesport, PA and had been a Vermilion resident since 1974, moving from Lorain.Donald worked for Palmers Garage in PA for 9 years and retired from Ford Motor Co. as a repairman.He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping, boating, and riding his Harley.He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Eicher of Vermilion; children, Kim Ring of McKeesport, PA, Donald Eicher, Jr. of Vermilion, Karen (Dale) Green of SC, Randy Sanders of Oberlin, David Sanders of Vermilion; grandchildren, Eric Sanders, Cody Eicher, Kimberly (Derek) Bill, Corey Reynolds, Tracey Coomer, Eddie Arbeznic, Derek Sanders, Mary Kelch, and Shanon Bauer; great-grandsons, Grady and Cameron Kelch and Evan Sanders; sister, Darlene Donavich of PA.He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frieda (nee Kirschke) Eicher; son, Douglas Sanders, siblings, Bill Eicher, Louise Naugle, Betty Demis, and Sandra Zsemko; and grandson, Samuel Reynolds.Private services will be held.The family suggests memorial contributions to Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County, Inc. 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.Online condolences may be made at www.riddlefuneralhome.com.
