James Holliman Obituary

James A. Holliman Sr. 96 of Oberlin passed away at Welcome Nursing Home on March 6 2023. He was born in Lorain on April 27 1926.James served in the Army during WW II. He worked as a supervisor for US Steel for 34 years and as a Deputy Sheriff for Lorain County for 15 years. James was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist church and served on many boards in the community. He was a charter member of Oberlin VFW Post #6273 serving as commander for 2 years. James also was a member of Oberlin golf club for many years where he had a hole in one.James is survived by his loving wife Allene Holliman 2 sons Eric (Phyllis) Holliman and Christopher (Barbara) Holliman, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Lilly Holliman, son James A. Holliman Jr., 2 brothers and 6 sisters.There will be a Graveside Service in Westwood Cemetery on Friday March 10 2023 at 11am with Rev. Fred L. Bell officiating.In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank. Online condolences may be made to www.cowlingfuneralhomeoh.com
