Jeffrey A. Joyce

Our gentle giant has gained his wings. Jeffrey A. Joyce, 82, of Wellington passed away September 24, 2023 at Western Reserve Hospice in Medina. He was born March 11, 1941 in Dearborn, Michigan to Albert and Donna (nee Schultz) Joyce. He grew up in Lorain and Amherst and was a member of the first graduating class of Marion L. Steele High School in 1959. He attended Kent State and graduated from Oberlin School of Commerce. Before retirement he owned and operated J &R Moving and Storage. Jeff and his wife, Charlene, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary March 16, 2023. Jeff loved his family, the wild birds he generously fed daily, gardening, woodworking, a good game of cards or dominoes and his cats (Tommie, Max and Buddy). His happy place was riding his tractor and mowing the grass.Jeff is survived by his wife Charlene; sons, Jason (Carolyn)Joyce of Dublin, OH and Ryan (Michelle) Joyce of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Ben, Ali ,Sophia and Audrey; sisters, Kaye (Wayne) Browning and Linda (Tom) Joyce Nichols; sisters-in-law, Gretchen (Chuck) Cobb, Renee (Charly) Steinbrenner, and Carla Schneider; brother-in-law Michael (Tammie) Schneider; nieces and nephews, Kristen, Lauren, Ryan, Scott, Tim, Rob, Matt, Drew and Jake.He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws Richard and Ruth (née Herchler) Schneider.As per his wishes there will be no services, but a celebration of life at a later date.Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Animal Protective League. 8303 Murray Ridge Rd.
