Joel Sanchez Obituary
Born on January 8, 1960, he had been a lifelong resident of Lorain. Joel graduated from Admiral King in 1979.
He was employed as a fleet mechanic for the Morning Journal for 32 years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain.
Joel enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and working on cars and houses.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy (nee Martinez); sons, Joey (Mandy) Sanchez, Juan Martinez, Jose Cortez, Noel Martinez, all of Lorain, Louise (Vladimir) Gluzman, of Miami, Fla., and Marisol (Montez) Crimes of Louisville, Ky.; brothers, Arvin Sanchez and Reynaldo Sanchez, both of Lorain; sister, Frances Velez of Lorain; grandchildren, Mariah, Jasmelyn, Arielle, Caleb, Noel Jr., Connor, Dominic, Scarlett, Elliot, Julian, Penelope, Eisaiah, Erinn and Eliyah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simplicio and Maria (nee Roman) Sanchez; and one uncle.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where prayer services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by 11:00 a.m. mass at St. Frances Cabrini Parish, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. Rev. Fr. John C. Retar will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.

I worked with Joel at The Morning Journal newspaper yrs ago in the transportation department on the dock. I helped him transition from being the company mechanic, to the Dock manager position. Worked very close to him side by side. Joel was a very good man. Always was in good spirits and liked to smile & laugh a lot. Joel will be missed by The Morning Journal Crew. Peace & condolences to his family. May he Rest In Peace with Christ Jesus Amen.
